Kara Waugh L.Ac
Kara first fell in love with acupuncture and Chinese medicine in 2002 while reading the book Between Heaven and Earth; a description of Chinese medical philosophy for lay people. Since then she has not stopped studying, training, and treating patients with the goal of helping people as much as possible through the medium of East Asian Medicine. She received a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine degree, involving extensive and in-depth training in acupuncture, herbology and related modalities at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, considered one of the best schools for acupuncture in the country.
She also had extensive massage training in both eastern and western techniques from the East West Massage School in Wisconsin. In addition, she is a Reiki Master as well as a certified Qigong and Meditation teacher with the Ling Gui Qigong School. She has treated a wide variety of conditions in her 10 years of practice as an acupuncturist, and has special interest in treating women’s health and fertility, stress and mental health, as well as a variety of pain conditions.
In her time outside the clinic, Kara can be found making music and singing, playing with her two cats, talking with good friends, walking in nature, meditating, and furthering her training in Qigong, so that she can bring the best intentions and energy to her healing practice.
